Pure Maintenance of the United States came up with the term “mold load cycle” a few years back. Every house has damp spots that need to be addressed. Included in this category are, but not limited to, window sills, bathrooms, carpets, drains, clothing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, humidifiers, and air conditioners. Mold spreads and becomes more concentrated as spores are released from a variety of tiny sources.
Furthermore, after a few years, every house has at least one leak or flood, and some have multiple. Though the water source is fixed by the traditional remediator, the mold growth and subsequent cycle persist throughout the entire house. The mold load increases after a flood or leak, and may decrease marginally after the problem is fixed.
